Corbin Firehouse

In 2009, After 23 years in the River Market, Tom Corbin has moved his studio, showroom and offices to the firehouse located in Rosedale, Kansas. Built in 1912, this historic building has an alluring past as former firehouse, city hall and most recently a private residence. While the jail cell, bank safe and brass fire pole remain, the building has been transformed into pristine gallery space, modern offices and of course, artist’s studio.

“We could not be more thrilled about Tom Corbin’s initiative to take over the historic firehouse in Rosedale,” said Wendy Wilson, Executive director of the Rosedale Development Association. “The Corbin Firehouse created with a cool, modern interior and sculpture garden, yet preserving the historic exterior, is a nod to our past and our future from which the community can take inspiration and pride.”

“Having a celebrated artist like Tom Corbin relocate to our community is a great addition for Wyandotte County, but also specifically for our growing artist community,” Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City Kansas Mayor Joe Reardon said. “We are excited to extend a warm welcome to Corbin Bronze on behalf of the entire community.”
