Dynamic tension combined with the rich and lucious tone of polished bronze, Eros and Janus are the newest additions to Tom Corbin’s stable of “Ring” sculptures. Both pieces have at least two positions to rotate for an entirely different aesthetic. In Roman mythology, Janus was the god of doors, gates, and transitions, representing the middle ground between both concrete and abstract dualities. Eros is an asteroid and the Greek god of love. The “X” in Corbin’s design is an abstract nod to this theme.
