In the Studio Now - Corbin Bronze

Introducing unexpected new work from Tom’s studio including nonobjective Columns and a new bronze canine companion. Hope you enjoy the 2015 preview. Wishing you a happy and prosperous New Year from Corbin Bronze!

Columns1 — Beginning with small maquettes (studies) and scaled drawings, Tom decides on overall form and proportion prior to sculpting the columns at full scale

Columns2 — The three Columns will range from 85 – 95″H. Tom applies clay to the forms using a variety of tools and techniques

Columns3 — Stripped down geometric forms are quite a departure from Tom’s figurative work. Their strong silhouettes will make for a dynamic play of light and shadow in a variety of installations

Columns4 — Shown here in clay, the Columns look right at home in the Corbin Sculpture Garden

Tom was approached to create a special commemorative sculpture as a tribute for a beloved late daughter who was deeply involved with rescuing dogs. He researched canine anatomy and took multiple photos of a neighborhood dog who served as the perfect model
