Now in his fourth artful decade, Tom’s work appears in over 20 public collections including Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art’s Permanent Collection. Individual collectors include Nicole Kidman, Jack Nicholson, Sofia Vergara and the late Frank Sinatra. Public installation sites include the United Nations, Florida State University, The University of Oregon and The Kauffman Foundation. Tom was most recently awarded the commission to produce a bronze monument of President Harry S. Truman for Statuary Hall in the U.S. Capitol. Horse Study #4

Bronze, green/brown patina From Prehistoric cave drawings to Renaissance masterpieces and present day icons, horses have been a recurring theme in paintings and sculpture alike in various cultures throughout history. While Tom Corbin focuses primarily on the human figure, he has always been intrigued by equines and continues to find new inspiration in the subject.

This summer, the Corbin Bronze galleries, studio and sculpture garden were a flurry of activity and excitement during this fantastic photoshoot. We are honored to have been chosen as the venue to capture the new, unique and exquisite pieces offered by Tivol.

Honorary Co-Chairs Allen & Cameron Rostron and Kansas City Young Audiences invited guests to celebrate the important role the arts play in the lives of young people! This year’s luncheon was held during National Arts Education Week, a nationwide celebration of the transformative power of the arts in education. Kansas City Young Audience’s new Executive Director Jennifer Montgomery was the event emcee, featuring live youth performances and national keynote speaker Randy Cohen of the Americans for the Arts. Kansas City Young Audiences honored three outstanding individuals who embody the KCYA mission to engage all youth in the arts, promote creativity, and inspire success in education.

Corbin’s expands on the Environments Series with his first tri-figure sculpture. In The Deep End, a moment is captured as a female figure is ready to commence her entry into the pool. The works in the Environments Series place the figure(s) within a setting to deliver a fuller story, giving the figure a purpose and a place.
